How to play Save the Dog
Save the Dog is the draw-a-line puzzle from those mobile game ads, built as a real game you can play in your browser. A dog stands still, a hive is full of angry bees, and you get one line to keep them apart for ten seconds. Ten levels, free, no download.
How it works
- Draw one continuous line with your mouse or finger. The bar in the corner shows how much ink is left.
- Let go and the line becomes solid. It falls, tips and settles on whatever is below it.
- The bees pour out of the hive and go for the dog. Keep every one of them off it for ten seconds.
- You cannot draw through the ground, the dog, the hive or the red no-draw zones.
Use less ink for more stars: three stars for a tight line, one for a sprawling one. You can replay any level to improve.
Tips
- A flat line on top is not enough. The bees go round the ends. Give your roof legs that reach the ground on both sides.
- Your line falls when you let go, so make sure its feet land on something solid.
- Bees are small, but not that small. A gap narrower than a bee keeps them out, so tuck your line close to walls and shelves.
- Use the level. A shelf or wall that already covers one side saves ink.
- Draw slowly near the dog. The line stops at anything you are not allowed to draw through.
Level by level
- 1. First Sting. One hive, flat ground. Learn the roof with legs.
- 2. Low Flyers. The bees come in sideways from a low hive.
- 3. Crossfire. Two hives, one on each side.
- 4. The Ledge. The dog is on a small ledge. Miss it and your line falls away.
- 5. Ink Diet. Very little ink. Keep the roof tight.
- 6. Red Tape. A no-draw zone above the dog forces a low roof.
- 7. Use the Shelf. A shelf covers the top. Tuck your line under it and close the side.
- 8. Mind the Gap. A gap beside the dog drops straight down. Keep both feet on solid ground.
- 9. Double Trouble. Two dogs, one line.
- 10. The Swarm. Three hives, a ledge and not much ink.
